Hello.

A little bit about me:

When I was a little girl, I didn't have any pets, but I always wanted a dog. I asked my parents for a puppy, but I got a bunny rabbit instead. I loved the rabbit, but it had some medical issues that stunted it's growth and ultimately led to his demise. I asked my parents for a dog again, and I got another bunny rabbit. Same breed. A long eared lop. He was beautiful. I entered Leo into the county fair, and we won 2nd place just based on his temperament and beauty/size. After him, I asked for a dog again. My parents thought a guinea pig would be a good fit.  He was! We all loved Bubba Louie, but I still wanted a dog.

One summer, my parents decided to incorporate a positive reinforcement exercise to motivate us (I am the oldest of 4 kids) to be responsible. They gave us dixie sized cups with our names on them and had a bag of dried beans. We were told that if we did something additional to our normal chores (e.g. help a sibling, a neighbor, a parent, etc) then my parents would put a dried bean in our cup. If we filled up our cups with beans during the summer, we could ask for ANYTHING we wanted.  Horses were my first love, so I considered asking for a pony. I knew my parents would have never said yes to that because I already had access to riding lessons, lots of horse care, and riding opportunities without much cost. I still wanted a dog, and I filled up my cup all the way! I asked for a dog again. Unknowingly to me, my parents picked out a dog breed that they thought would be a good fit for our family, and one day we went to look at some Boston Terrier Puppies at a breeder's house. I was 13. I got to pick out my puppy. We couldn't take her home that day because she was too young to leave her mama, but I spent the next 2 weeks dreaming about her and planning out all the fun things we would do together. My parents allowed me to sign up for a basic obedience dog training class with her. The trainer that led the class did a "dog show" at the end of the class, and Oreo and I won first place. I knew right then and there.... this is what I want to do for the rest of my life with lots of dogs and people. Oreo was my best friend. I was hers too. One summer when school was out, I took her for a walk at 6:30am Mondays through Fridays. She never understood Saturday and Sunday. But can dogs actually realize its not a walk day without a consistent schedule? She kept me on my toes, and always made sure to burrow herself on top of them when she would get between my toes and my bed blankets.

Sadly, she passed away of cancer. The breed is prone to that unfortunately. I am passionate that all dog need to learn the skills to be a happy, healthy, and responsible family member. I will help you learn what your dog needs to survive in this wild world and live "younger" longer.

Fast Forward - Over the years I have perfected my skills by studying dog behavior and learning styles and became certified as a professional dog trainer. I use methods that are conceptual, easy to understand and implement, and result proven.
